With over 2000 cochlear implant surgeries, Univ. Prof. Dr. Wolf-Dieter Baumgartner is a record-breaking expert in his field. He says of himself that he knows all his patients to whom he has made hearing possible. Only the babies he has cared for, whom he sometimes meets again years later, are lost to his memory because of their development. He has successfully performed over 2850 active ear implants, many of them worldwide firsts.
