About

Professor Michael Shapira has over 26 years of medical experience during which he has assisted tens of thousands of patients suffering from leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), multiple myeloma, and similar diseases. For those whom complete cure was not possible, Professor Shapira significantly improved their overall health relying on his extensive experience and vast knowledge. Many of Professor Shapira's recovered patients sought treatment in Israel from former Soviet Union countries. In his treatment and diagnostics, Professor Shapira employs the latest advancements in hematology and hematologic oncology, some of which he personally contributed to developing. For instance, under Professor Shapira's guidance, new methods of bone marrow and stem cell transplantation were created. These methods can now be applied to patients for whom transplantation was previously deemed impossible due to age constraints. Additionally, Professor Shapira has been involved in projects aimed at developing agents that prevent rejection of transplanted cells by the body.
