Prim. Prof. Dr. Marcus Säemann

The nephrologist Dr. Markus Seemann is a general practitioner and nephrology specialist, head of the Nephrology and Dialysis Department at the Wilhelminenspital Hospital in Vienna. He has been working in the field of internal medicine for many years and provides care for all forms of kidney disease, high blood pressure and diabetes, kidney stones as well as other areas of internal medicine. Since 2017, he holds the Chair of Nephrology at the Sigmund Freud Private University of Vienna, is the supervisor of a large number of thesis and diploma students at the medical university, and is also a lecturer. He lectures nationally and internationally on many topics in nephrology, including diabetes mellitus in renal disease and kidney transplantation. Together with colleagues, he established the Austrian R.E.N. platform for advanced training in the whole spectrum of kidney diseases in 2007.
