Dr. Paya also offers minimally invasive surgery in infants and children. He was the first to apply this technique in Austria at the University Hospital of Vienna, Dept. of Pediatric Surgery and introduced it as a standard. The establishment and teaching of 'laparascopic surgery' in children and adolescents was already done in 1994-2000 by Dr. Paya. The minimally invasive method, which was still being contested at that time, is now used worldwide and, not least due to Prof. Paya's intensive scientific work.
