About

Professor Mordehai Gutman is one of the most renowned and sought-after oncological surgeons and specialists in general surgery, both in Israel and abroad. With vast experience, he has performed thousands of successful operations for the removal of tumors in the abdominal cavity and chest. After completing a two-year fellowship in Houston, Professor Gutman returned to Israel in 1994 and assumed the position of Deputy Head of the Surgical Department at Ichilov Hospital (Tel Aviv). He also established a local chemotherapy unit specializing in the treatment of metastatic tumors of the extremities and abdominal cavity, which gained recognition not only in Israel but also abroad. Proficient in the treatment of all types of cancer, Professor Gutman has achieved particularly impressive results in breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, and sarcomas. He implements the most effective contemporary methods in his practice, such as hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for abdominal cancers, and utilizes advanced TrueBeam radiation therapy systems, among others. In addition to his oncological surgical focus, Professor Gutman excels in performing hernia repairs, gallbladder surgeries, and other procedures within the realm of general surgery. Alongside his intensive medical practice, he holds several crucial administrative positions, including Chair of the General Surgery Steering Committee at the Maccabi Health Services (Israel), and membership in various international councils related to surgery, anesthesia, emergency medicine, and oncology. He also serves as a faculty member in the Surgical Department of Tel Aviv University.
